Yeeha!! Perfect conditions, as good as it gets here. Solid winds, big waves and the sun was shining and whats more I had the whole beacj to myself... Where was everyone??

Started off with winds around 25 knots for a few minutes but a squall came through taking it up to 30-35 knots and then after the heavy squall the sun came out and the wind settled down at around 30-35 knots. I was maxed out with my 5m and little wave-board and alittle overpowered much of the time but didn't change down as i thought the wind might ease a bit. It didn't.

I should really have been out on my 4.5m and may have got away with the 4m, but hanging onto the very flatly rigged 5m was just about OK. Lots of big jumps and some really nice wave rides and generally just blasting about and playing in the waves. Out the back the waves were pretty big with logo high faces so lots of chargubg down these on the edge of control too.

After a couple of hours I was beginning to get tired. The wind was however easing off just a tiny bit (30 knots rather than 35) so things were getting a little less overpowered so I kept having 'just one more run'. Finally tiredness got the better of me and I lost concentration for a split second. Next thing I know I'm in the middle of a spectacular mid-air catapult rapidly followed by a full on body-slam against a carbon fibre mast... Ouch, that hurt. Floated around for a few minutes trying to get my leg working properly again and catch my breath then managed to waterstart and sail back in with quite a bit of pain in my leg. Thought I'd better have few more runs just get over the pain and then hobbled back home.

What a day, as good as it gets and an injury to boot!
